NOTICE TO MEMBERSHIP

Effective immediately, winnings from monthly tournaments and special events will not be picked up based on the honor system.  Beginning last year and running into this year, we have had some problems with members missing either their gift card or cash winnings from the blue box.

I am saddened to think in a game of honor and integrity we have to resort to this new procedure.   However, we cannot continue to have to pay out extra cash or gift cards because somebody is either blatantly taking others’ winnings or is not honest enough to bring them back if they mistakenly took them.  In either situation, it is a drain on the club’s other funds and has to be halted immediately.

The new procedure is as follows:

The blue box will be in the hands of the Board of Directors at all times and not available to members.  All winnings will be handed out by a Board of Director either at the general meetings or at tournament days.  Additionally, there will be no more picking up winnings for other players, which may be part of the problem.  Members will need to be responsible for picking up their own winnings on a go forward basis.
