President's Corner
This month we have our annual Member/Member tournament. I am hoping we have a lot of our membership signing up to play in one of our marquee tournaments of the year. If you haven't signed up yet, please contact Don Didier to reserve your spot. We also are having Friday night paring party to bet on your team or other teams you think have a good chance of being the low net team for the tournament. Dennis Tramer well be running the horse race from 5:00 to 7:00.
The Club Championship tournament will be held on 6/18, 6/25, and 6/26. You can signup on the Club Website shortly. Like always, the more participation this tournament gets, the better the competition! I expect that we will have enough players for Gross, A & B Net flights. If you have any questions about the Club Championship, please contact Nick Zamora directly.

Meeting Minutes
On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, the monthly meeting of the El Dorado Park Men’s Golf Club was held in the Big White Tent. The pre-meeting dinner included salad, rolls and butter, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cookies for desert. (I just noticed that this was the same meal that we had two months ago. At least it didn’t taste like leftovers.)
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Terry Fulford who led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were approximately 60 members in attendance including Past Presidents Cliff Aichele, Richard Scoville, Terry Fulford and (Life Member) Bob Livingstone. New members Robert Dunatov and Bill Breytspraak introduced themselves and were given the New Member Spiel by Director Aichele. Bill actually wasn’t a member yet but officially joined the Club the next day. The previous month’s Meeting Minutes and Treasurer’s Report were approved.
President Fulford complemented the membership on a good job of maintaining a steady pace of play during the previous filled to capacity tournament. Keep up the good work men! Terry also noted that we will be holding the raffle for spots in the Long Beach Golf Festival at the May General Meeting. Terry then requested a moment of silence for Henry DeGraaf’s wife Cindy who recently passed away from Covid complications. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Henry. Terry also noted that our Entertainment Director Steve Cook, who has been hospitalized for many months, looks like he’s on the road to recovery. We’re all pulling for you, Steve.
Directors’ Reports were as follow:
Director Mike Vaughn announced the results of the year’s first putting tournament. Seven players tied for second place, while first place honors went to Andrew Cochrane. Not the only time Andrew collected winnings during the meeting.
Director Bob Livingstone noted that several of our members had recently entered and done well in various SCGA Tournaments, including Mel Collins, Dean Schneider, Brent Skinner, and Rich Boyker, and our previous Course Pro Joe Grohman. Congratulations to these gentlemen for representing El Do in a professional manner.
Director Omar Diaz discussed several El Dorado Local Rules, specifically those pertaining to unpaved roads on Holes 7, 11 and 12.
Handicap Chairman/Director Wally Gordon announced the winner of the Most Improved Golfer for the first quarter of 2022 as Ed Taguchi. Nice job Ed! Wally also reminded everyone of the requirement to post your score on the same day that you played the round. Wally discussed a couple of important golf etiquette items – raking bunkers, paying attention to the ropes, and generally taking care of OUR golf course.
Director Mark Ziegenhagen announced the winners of the year’s first pre-meeting 9 Hole Tournament. First place went to Brit Reiner, followed closely by Robert Jojola for second and new member Robert Dunatov for third.
Net Golfer of the Month for March was Paul Standish with a nice 67. There were no cards turned in for Gross GOM. What’s up? Maybe I’ll turn in one of my typical 95s next month and win a nice plaque.
Special Events Director Brad Wilcox, doing double duty also as Tournament Chairman for the vacationing “I’m having so much fun I may never come back” Don Didier, discussed results of the March St. Patrick’s Day Waltz, the Lakewood Away Tournament, the Weekender, and the April One Gross/Two Net Tournaments. If we give Brad much more to do he may have to quit his day job. Oh, that’s right – this is his day job. Brad discussed sign-ups for the May Member-Member Tournament, one of our premier events of the year, including the Friday Night Pairing Party. Don’t miss this two day tournament.
Director Cliff Aichele reminded everyone to sign up for the Hole-in-One Fund if they hadn’t. You’d hate to miss out on a serious payday for that one lucky shot.
President Fulford, filling in for Director Zamora, noted that sign-ups for the Club Championship, to be held in June and July, will be open soon.
New Business: There was no new business.
Old Business: There was no old business.
The $50 Drawing winner was Andrew Cochrane. A good day for Andrew.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.

Director Report
Hi guys, we have had a calm spring to get us ready for the summer.
The May Putting Contest was “Count Them All”. We had (15) players for this event. The course was only 7-holes so it upped the chance for someone to run the table and ace them all, but… Maybe it was due to the winter layoff, who knows. 2nd Place was a seven-way tie with 1-under for 10 points each for Greg Englant, Brian Dauk, Bret Holloway, Cliff Aichele, Corey Smith, Austin Barisoff and Brit Reiner. 1st Place with 2-under went to Andrew Cochrane and gave him 63 points. The 50 point stipend from the Club helps to provide these nice prizes. The format next month will be shaken up a little so be sure to get to the meeting early and bring your flat stick. We will be back to (9) holes. Action will start at or about 5:30 and continue to 6:45 pm on the south green.
Entries for the Flights Championship will be taken starting meeting night, Tuesday June 14. Entry remains at $20 per player payable to Mike Vaughn in Cash or by check. Your entry money creates the prize pool, all of which will be returned.
Can hardly wait,
Mike Vaughn

Hello Members!
This will be short and sweet. We had a better month of cards turned in for April. We had 6 total cards…. All Net. No Gross cards were turned in again. May Day! May Day! Red Code Alert! C’mon you Gross Golfers…. Get your act together! Start turning in your cards!
Unfortunately I had to toss 3 cards because they either forgot to put which tees they played or put the incorrect index. I don’t know if you played Reds, Whites, Blues, Black or Combos. So hard to put your correct index in for the tees played. We also use your 6 month LI. Not 12 month LI or Current Index. Very simple to pull up on your phone. Go to Eldo Website, click Handicaps, click tees played under LI. Write it on the card along with tees played. Don’t forget your name, date played, SCGA GHIN number and two signatures (yours and men’s club member that played with you). Also please indicate if you are submitting for Net GOM, Gross GOM or Both. And that’s it….completed card!
So our winner this month is none other than El Presidente Terry Fulford. Terry had shot a gross 95 minus his 27 handicap for a Net 68. Way to go Pres! Honorable mention to Eric Miller with a Net 69.
Remember to play in 9 hole tournament on day of meeting. Sign up sheet in Pro Shop and $5.00 to enter. Winners announced at meeting. Last months winners - First place went to Brit Reiner, followed closely by Robert Jojola for second and new member Robert Dunatov for third. The Club throws in extra $50 for the pot. Good Luck to all!
See you at the links,
